I am excited to participate in my second What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday. It is pretty neat, but my desk has my wire working tools and supplies.
(I accidentilly linked last week's post to this week's WOYWW linky list. You can see my 09/05/2012 post here. Sorry about that.)
I am using the mini light box to take pictures of my work in progress Halloween trees and a finished pendant. I also have the green wire out to try a few Christmas Tree prototypes. I am excited, if I get started early I think I can have a great holiday season.
I love my black plastic caddy, I am able to keep a lot of supplies and tools in it.
Here are the Halloween trees that I'm still working on, I'll eventually add them to the shop. I think the trees look interesting without leaves.
This is a Halloween variation on the Tree of Life. I love the moon, it is a disk shaped jasper bead.
I want to Thank everyone who stopped by last week. Especially Julia Dunnit, the great host who invented and continues to host Work desk Wednesday on her blog Stamping Ground. I was moved by the number of warm and engaging comments I received.
You can view this week's list of Work desk Wednesday participants at Stamping Ground.
If you are visiting from WOYWW, Welcome and Thanks for taking a peek at my desk.
Ah Frances, your space is controlled and calm and you write as if you have ideas that you know you will fulfill...I fear we are counter opposites! Loved browsing through your family visit posts, poor Isa - was that eyebrow threading?!! Yowser! I think your Hallowe'en ideas are really effective...the tree of life is brilliant!
ReplyDeletei am loving those trees , they are fab! have a great week trace x 48
ReplyDeleteHi Frances I love how you have captured the moon in your fab wirework pendant. Gotta love a bit of Halloween. I can't believe it is racing up fast. We are still waiting for Summer to arrive....oh well ;-) I see you have got the WOYWW bug too - It didn't take me long to appreciate this lovely land of creative folk. WOYWW Hugs to you from Helen 73
ReplyDeleteWow - gorgeous... I love the trees without leaves - with those gnarly fascinating branches who needs leaves? Beautiful work! Happy WOYWW!

These trees look amazing and to get good photos of them must be so hard there is no density to them... Really cool without the leaves bye the way.
ReplyDeleteSee you next week. Happy crafting

Hi there!! MUst have missed you last week..sorry..just to say, I really enjoyed reading your posts :)
ReplyDeleteAlthough I started out sewing fabric, I recently took up the black art of beading...I say that because I'm like Gollum with his Precious when it comes to my (mostly recycled) stash of sparklies!! I haven't done any wirework yet, so am full of admiration for your Moon Cage and the Tree, absolutely fantastic. I'm in awe!!
Hugs, LLJ #71 xx
Oh dear...I'm really wanting a jasper bead now! Love your beautiful wire work! Sandy Leigh #39
ReplyDeleteOh, I LOVE your trees!!!
ReplyDeleteWire - how very interesting. This is one of those things that I have in my stash that I've never taken the time to learn to use. I'll consider this a nudge in that direction. Thanks for stopping by my blog. S
ReplyDeleteOh wow love your wire work and those trees are fab. I have a wire coiling gizmo which I enjoy using. Thanks for popping by mine. Take care Zo xx 118
ReplyDeleteI agree -- the Halloween trees look just right without leaves. The images of Halloween are such fun for artists and crafters. Thanks so much for visiting and your kind comments over at my blog. I <3 washi tape, too -- I just ordered the three roll set from My Mind's Eye's newest line -- I couldn't resist the colors. Happiest of Wednesdays to you. ~ Laura #122

I love how you use wire. The trees look very cool! Is that a magnetic strip hanging in front of your desk?
ReplyDeleteTerry #60
Hi Terry. It is a metal strip that I can put magnets on. I love it and keep trying new ways to use it. Thanks for visiting.
DeleteI really like your little trees. The tree of life is wonderful;.
ReplyDeleteHappy very belated WOYWW!

The light box is fabulous. I have tried many different DIY light boxes with little success. The little trees are fabulous and the light box really does wonders with lighting. Looking forward to seeing more this Wednesday.
