I must tell you right away that I am a very fortunate person, I have a wonderful family and extended family. So far, I have had a fun, exciting and adventurous life. Maybe even a charmed life. That said, I feel a bit embarrassed to tell my story because I have always been a private person. But sharing brings us closer and I want everyone to know that fighting can be done in so many different ways. I have had battles with breast cancer over the years, the first when I was 28. But in 2010 I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. That means breast cancer has spread to my liver, vertebrae and bones. I am receiving aggressive treatment and doing well. I am a bit frail after more than a year of chemo, but I want everyone to know that I am in great spirits, have a doctor I like and am ready to fight dirty like Mike (watch those ears!). I am on a break from Chemotherapy so I can recover for the next round. I am taking advantage of the break by spending time with my family and making things. You will see that although I love making things, making things does not always love me;)
The best part is that my little family is closer than ever and they are so cute that sharing pictures of them is almost an emergency.
My husband Esteban has always been my true love and best friend, but now he has also become my part time care giver and general champion (together 21 years so far). My two children, Isabel (13) and Sebastian (19) are strong, bright and funny and they make every day better and easier. We will include things on our blog like: what we love, what we are making and doing, family member profiles and more. Fair warning: we have the best dog on the planet, Luci and she is at the center of our family, there will be an embarrassing number of photos of her.
Welcome and thanks for stopping by.
