Today I am adding:

Galaxy Quest
Galaxy Quest is a 1999 science-fiction comedy parody about a troupe of human actors who defend a group of aliens against an alien warlord. It was directed by Dean Parisot and written by David Howard and Robert Gordon.Wikipedia
Sigourney Weaver (Gwen DiMarco)

Galaxy Quest is another sentimental favorite.  I have seen it again and again with the children, we all love this sweet and goofy movie.

Aside from the amazing line up of actors, (I <3 Sigourney Weaver) Galaxy Quest has a funny and heart warming story.  Tim Allen plays the over the hill hero perfectly.  Will the broken team come together against all odds?

The bad guy is definitely bad and pretty creepy looking.  The make up and special effects are fantastic.

Sam Rockwell is a comedy surprise, he almost steals the show with this clever performance.

Here are a few of the movie's tag lines:

    • Never give up, never surrender!
    • The show has been cancelled... but the adventure is just beginning.
    • A comedy of galactic proportions.
    • By Grabthar's Hammer, by the sons of Warvan, you shall be avenged.
    • All systems are functioning Commander.
    • Pedal to the metal, Commander.
    • Are we there yet?

The good aliens are well played and very fun to watch.

Every space comedy should have a funny nerd, this one has Justin Long.

The cast that saves the world!
Never Give Up, Never Surrender!

If you have not seen Galaxy Quest, you should.  A great cast and a funny story make this a worthwhile movie to watch.

I hope the rest of your weekend is relaxing.

  1. I was just pinning Galaxy Quest onto pinterest as a great guilty pleasure movie. One more highly quotable line "Oh, that's not right."

Tell it like it is! I appreciate your comment.
