LL#4 To Halloween or not to Halloween, that is the question!?!

Now that we are deep into September, Halloween feels like it is on the way.  I am not sure why, maybe the cooler weather, but I am getting excited about the spookiest holiday.
Most of you know that my lovely daughter is 13, how fun to be 13 on Halloween!  Anyway, Isabel is trying to decide if she will dress up this year or not.  What?  Decide?  Are you kidding me?
So obviously I am putting a bug (a gross hairy Halloween bug) in her ear so she will decide to dress up.  I want to live vicariously through her so I have to develop a full campaign for this Halloween thing.  Isabel is picky in a weird way, so I have to be ready for a rejection.  Having several ideas should help.  I am going to run a few ideas by you and you can let me know if any of these are worth pitching to Isabel.  I got the ideas and photos from Joann.com.

Here are my initial ideas for an Isabel Halloween costume:

1.  Owl-I saw this great picture of a person dressed as a giant owl and it made me smile.  The costume is made of felt and looks pretty easy, ok it looks hard to make.  I would make it out of paper and basically make a paper dress and headpiece and cover it in giant paper feathers.  I love this one, but I worry that Isa will think it is too busy and for little kids.

There was this owl pumpkin too.  Super cute.

2.  Cat Girl-I know she was in the bat movie so this one may be cool.  It is a black cat mask, we would do a tail and a black cat bag too.  This one might win just because it is simple and she won't have bits of costume falling off all the time.

3.  A giant cell phone!  Isn't this one funny?  I have just the right box too, this one would be easy to put together.  What will she think?  Could this one be too attention getting?

4.  Mask on a stick, like the ones used in a photo booth.  I like this idea because you are able to do just about anything.  I think a cool mascarade mask (like the one in the photo with peacock feathers) with a black outfit or dress could be a winner.

5.  Zombie Shirt.  Ok, this one looks easy and stylish.  I think she would wear this after Halloween.  I would want to zombie her up for the big day though.  Face make up would be a perfect combo for the Zombie.  Is this the best one?

I need your help to convince Isabel to Halloween on my behalf.  What do you think?  Should I pitch all five costume ideas and see what she likes?  Or is there one clear winner?

Have an outstanding Tuesday!

  2. Ok when we where at the JoAnn store she and Esteban where trying on mask and I remember she liked a Jester mask. It was really cool. I watched the show with The Middle and the girl child wore a costume that wasn't that cool with the kids her age so be sure she is really into the costume. 13 can be a tuff age for girls, not a kid but not ready for the older teens. Take care Tanya. Syl
