Happy Birthday America!

The Fourth of July is a great holiday.  I wanted to see what Wiki had to say and here it is:

"Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball gamesfamily reunions, and political speeches and ceremonies, in addition to various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. Independence Day is the national day of the United States."

The weather here wanted to be part of the celebration, so it rained!  Yea!  We are just relaxing and staying cool today.  We will have a hot dog feast this afternoon, with tomato, cucumber and onion salad and chips and salsa.  Funny, chips and salsa goes with everything;).  Watching a movie is also in the plans, but likely from NetFlix.  I hope your day is as relaxing and delicious as mine.

Have a great Independence Day!

  1. We are chilling in Rockport Texas. Took a ride in the Long Horn Golf Cart (see Facebook) and have plans to ride down to the bay for the fireworks. Enjoying the day, remembering Mom, (1 year since she left us for the better life). Your Dad is evening taking a break from working. Love you all. Syl
